He is survived by: his close friends, Dimauro, Liebel, Pikula, DeSousa and Mulholland; his wife Ellen; his children, Sarah (Tyler Smith) of Brooklyn, NY and Matthew (Mary Rubio) of New York; and his siblings, Francis and Mary Wells (John) of Kennebunk, Maine.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 9th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chapel of the Acres (21 Tinkham Rd, Springfield, MA 01129). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Cecilia's Church (42 Main St, Wilbraham, MA 01095).
In lieu of flowers, John and his family request that any gesture of goodwill or donation be directed to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, 1250 Fourth Street.
