He was predeceased by: his sisters, Carmine DeJesus and Juanita Matias. He is survived by: his spouse Bernice Velez (Gabanelli); his children, Michael Velez, Henry Matias, Diane Velez, Marie Velez and Vidal Velez; and his brothers, George Matias, Rafael Sanchez and Pablo Matias. He is also survived by children; along with extended family and friends.
