He is survived by: his spouse Catherine McDermott (Martel); his parent Mary Elizabeth "Mae" McDermott (Morgan); his wife Cathy; his children, James Joseph McDermott III, Thomas McDermott (Donna), Corinne McDermott (John Shea) and Richard McDermott; his grandchildren, Kelley McDermott, James J. McDermott IV, Devin McDermott, Jack Shea, Ryan McDermott and Cole Shea; his great grandchildren, Miguel Principe and Maya Principe; and his siblings, Billy McDermott, Midge Bullpet, Nancy Roundtree, Patty Emond and Roseann Sullivan.
Funeral from the Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home, 4 Common St., Stoneham, Saturday, November 3rd at 9 A.M., followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 A.M. Visitation at the funeral home on Friday, 4-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Stoneham High School Hall of Fame.
