It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Antonio M. Batista of Stoughton, Massachusetts, who passed away on February 27, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his brother Raul Baptista. He is survived by: his wife Maria C. Batista (Rodrigues); his children, Filomena Alves-Amado (Domingo Amado) of Hanson, Henrietta McGarry of Weymouth, Henry Alves (Laura Sampson-Alves) of Brockton, Antonio Batista Jr. (Thy Pham-Batista) of South Easton and Elizabeth Batista-Maloney (Jeffrey Maloney) of Stoughton; his grandchildren, Francesca Alves-Hines, Marisa McGarry, EvaMarie McGarry, Benjamin Amado, Kayla Alves, Isaac Walker, Nathaniel Amado, Jonathan Alves, Derren Maloney, Noah Batista, Aliyah Maloney and Nora Batista; his great grandchildren, Ameerah and Malik Miranda; and his siblings, Nicolau Batista of Cape Verde, Margarida Cardoso of Brockton, Maria Rodrigues of North Scituate, Adelina Monterio of Palm Bay, Pedro Rodrigues Batista of Palm Bay, Aida DoCanto, Maria Batista and Eugenia Batista. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Masks and social distancing required. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, a Funeral Mass will be private with interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
