He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Fitzgerald and Lillian M. Fitzgerald (Kelleher); his brother Gerard Fitzgerald; and his father-in-law William. He is survived by: his wife Barbara J. Fitzgerald (Coakley); his daughters, Susan M. Fitzgerald of Stoughton and Jill L. Fitzgerald Sullivan of Braintree; his grandchildren, Patrick, Anna-Kate, Nolan and Madelyn Sullivan; his siblings, Jeannie Cahill (late Gerald) of Dorchester, John Fitzgerald (Kathleen) of West Roxbury, V. F. of St. Columbkille Parish and Mary Cass; his mother-in-law Marie Coakley of Hyde Park; and his siblings-in-law, Sandra Cummings (Paul) of West Roxbury and William Coakley (Marjorie) of California. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
