He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred W. Simms and Elsie R. Simms; his daughter Deborah A. Beauregard; and his sibling Thomas W. Simms (Sally Simms) of Rhode Island. He is survived by: his wife Barbara A. Simms (Halloran); his sons, Fred T. Simms, Jr. (Orla) of Stoughton and Thomas W. Simms (Tereese) of Virginia; his son-in-law Mark Beauregard of Stoughton; and his sister C. Carolina Howland (Lew Howland) of Rhode Island. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Due to Covid Restrictions, Private Funeral Services with Military Honors will be held at the North Burial Ground in Providence, RI.
