He was predeceased by: his spouse Lucille A. Tyer (Duff); and his sibling Peggy Caulfield. He is survived by: his children, James V. Tyer (Laurie) of Bedford, NH, Lynda A. Tyer-Viola (Robert) of Texas, Steven J. Tyer (Colleen) of Stoughton and MaryBeth O'Brien (Michael) of Easton; his grandchildren, Sarah, Craig Tyer, Michael, Kevin Viola, Margaret, James Tyer, Julia and Carolyn O'Brien; and his sibling Mary Lou Howard. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
