He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Carole D. Helgesen (Janczyk); his son Carl W. Helgesen (Mary Ann) of Homosassa Springs; his sisters, Karen Reilly of Millbury, Ethel Olsen of Andover and Vesta Lindstrom of Woodstock, CT; and his parents, Birger Helgesen and F. Louise Helgesen (Leonard). He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations in his name may be made to The Salvation Army.
