He was predeceased by : his parents, Guilherme Medeiros Rego and Maria Angelina Rego (Soares); and his sister Isabel Botelho. He is survived by : his son Karlyn M. Smith; and his siblings, Maria Eduarda Ferreira of Fall River, Venilde Cavaco of Somerset, Eusebia Lowery of Rochester, MA, Gilda Souza and Liberio Medeiros. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
