She was predeceased by: her husband Robert G. Poitras; her parents, Manuel A. Gomes and Edwina A. Gomes (Nicholas); and her sister Alice Pereira. She is survived by: her children, Leisha J. Brum (John) of New Bedford, Kerri L. Santos (Christopher) of Dartmouth and Kevin A. Gomes; her sisters, Joyce Pina of New Bedford and Mary Bakke of Virginia; her grandchildren, Lindsey Knoll, Renee Brum, Aaron Santos, Braeden Santos, Cameron Santos and Elizabeth Santos; her great grandchild Asher Knoll; and her siblings, Hilda Trahan, Julia Botelho, Dorothy Pimental, Manuel Gomes, Jr. and Anthony Gomes. She is also survived by her parents and then to her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
