He was predeceased by: his parents, William V. Whalen and Elizabeth Whalen (O'Loughlin); and his sibling William V. Whalen. He is survived by: his spouse Joyce M. Whalen (Fagundes); his daughters, Kelly J. Thiboutot (Chad) of Swansea and Kerri L. Stepien (Marc) of Rochdale, MA.; his sister Maureen Whalen of Swansea; his grandsons, Jeremy, Dylan, Brady and Jake; and his stepgrandson Mitchell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
