She was predeceased by: her parent John Whitfield; her husband Julian Brown "Jule" Abel; her daughter Billy Karen Abel; and her brother Luther Carl Whitfield. She is survived by: her parent Bessie Lawrence Whitfield. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, who were loved as grandchildren.
