He is survived by: his sons, Charles William "Chuck" Tyson, Jr. of Athens, Mitchell Ray "Mitch" and Robbin Tyson of Tifton; his siblings, Maxine Franks of Tifton, Ruth McMillan of Enigma, Margaret Willis of Tifton, Bill Tyson of Snellville and Art Tyson of Sharpsburg; his grandchildren, Mindy Michelle Tyson and Austin Ray Tyson; and his great grandchildren, Kinsley Rae Woodall and Emery Christine Woodall.
