He was predeceased by: his parents, Antonio Paiva and Maria Paiva (Soares). He is survived by: his wife Diamantina; his children, Paulo Paiva of Taunton, Joana Soares of Dighton, Antonio Paiva of Dighton, Emanuel Paiva of Bridgewater and Dina Mercado; and his siblings, Antonio Paiva of Taunton, Manuel Paiva of Canada and Emilia Andrade of Canada.
