He was predeceased by: his spouse Anita L. Alvilhiera (Morin); his parents, Joao Alvilhiera and Annie Alvilhiera (Viera); and his sibling Francis Alvilhiera. He is survived by: his children, Pamela Smith and Colonel James Alvilhiera Jr. (Michelle Massingill) of Duluth, GA.; his grandchildren, Kristen Lefebvre, Ryan Perry, William Smith Jr., Brandon Skwarto, Aubrey Alvilhiera, Joshua Alvilhiera and Nicole Drake; his great grandchild Zachary LeFebvre; and his siblings, Theresa Amaral of Taunton, Anne McGann of Middleboro, John Alvilhiera, Frank Alvilhiera, Master Sgt, Anthony Alvilhiera and Grace Goodwin.
