She was predeceased by: her parents, Tikvah Portnoi and Henry Portnoi; and her aunts and uncles, Rachel Sachs Jones (JB Jones) and Baruch Sachs. She is survived by: her children, Sarah Bess Cohan and Benjamin Albert Cohan; her children-in-law, Jamal Gathers, Sr. and Annie LaRochelle; her grandsons, Henry Jay Gathers and Gabriel Thomas LaRochelle Cohan; her brother Nathan Portnoi; and her cousins, David, Laura Sachs, Sarah, Jordan Stone, Hannah, Alex Craven, Peter, Mark Stone and Jonathan Altman.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to either the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) or the Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, MA, both of which Rebecca enjoyed supporting.
