It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lavinia R. (Briggs) Abel of Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts, born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, who passed away on May 3, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including : her children, Andrew Abel (Grace Abel) of Mercersburg, PA and Catherine Abel (David Brenner) of West Roxbury, MA; her brother William Briggs of Savannah, Georgia; her grandsons, Nathan Abel, Rubin Brenner and Sam Brenner; her goddaughter Anne Burns; her nephew John Briggs; her parents, Ruth Lawrence of New York and Stuart Briggs of Brookline; her brother Fairhaven; and her husband Thomas Abel.
