He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles F. Balin and Eileen F. Balin; and his sister Leslie J. Slate. He is survived by: his siblings, James E. Balin and Cheryl L. Koski; his nieces, Kristie J., Kerri L. and Katie J. Koski; his nephew Kristopher C.; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Kamdyn L. Crumpton and Nikolas K. Van Halen.
