Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Gerald Carney of West Springfield, Massachusetts, born in Springfield, Massachusetts, who passed away at the age of 74, on March 4, 2021. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Carney and Doris Carney (Fontaine). He is survived by: his wife Claire Carney (Berube); his children, Christine Crowell (Kevin) of Mansfield, Kimberly Renaud (William) of Chicopee, Andrew Carney, Jeffrey Carney and Daniel Carney; his grandchildren, Benjamin, Natalie Crowell, Allyssa, Gianni Renaud and Liam Drost; his brother John; and his sister-in-law Nancy Carney of Feeding Hills. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
His wake and burial will be private and reserved for immediate family only given the COVID-19 pandemic. Guests are invited to attend his Mass at St. Thomas Church if they wish (respecting social distancing and wearing masks).
His family has requested that memorial donations be made in his memory to Saint Joan of Arc School, 587 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
