He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph G. Binney and Doris Binney (Baker); and his brother William Binney. He is survived by: his wife Ellen Binney (Sharpe); his children, Annie Hammatt (Merv) of Bremen, ME, Kathleen Borgatti of Springfield and Michael Binney (Shari); his grandsons, Jason, Justin, Jeremy Borgatti, Steven, Joshua and Timothy Binney; and his great grandchildren, Katie, Tyler, Nathaniel, Melanie, Mia, Skylar, Hanna, Rylee and J. J. Richard.
