It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rodothea Markantonakis (Springfield, Massachusetts), who passed away on June 22, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Rodothea leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Rodothea may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Eleftherios Markantonakis; her daughters, Maria Lees, Joeann Florence and Nia Markantonakis; her sons-in-law, Stanley Dobrowski and Robert Lees; her great grandchild Louis Carlin Dean; and her friend Dishes. She was also cherished by her four grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral (22 St George Rd, Springfield, MA 01104). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation in Rodothea's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, at alz.org.
