He was predeceased by : his wife Eileen Mumblow Lane (Tootie). He is survived by : his daughter Nancy Gorton (Paul Gorton); his grandchildren, Ryan and Alicia of Randolph, MA; his sons, Richard Lane of Westwood, MA and David Lane of Bellows Falls, VT; and his sister Jane Johnson of Cape Cod.
