He was predeceased by: his parents, William P Gavin and Ann Gavin; his sons, Matthew S. Gavin and Richard D. Gavin; and his siblings, William P. Gavin II, Ann Gavin DePlacido and Sheila M. Gavin.
He is survived by: his wife Diane C. Gavin; his children, Paul J. Gavin, Jessica A. Stentiford (Christopher), Jennifer D. Tenore (L. James), Joseph H. Gavin II, William R. Gavin, Dustin P. Gavin, Liam A. Gavin and Meya L. Gavin of Michael, JL.; his sister-in-law Marjorie Gavin; and his uncle Joe. He is also survived by his twelve grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
