She was predeceased by: her spouse Charles D. Severance; her parent Herbert Nickerson; and her sibling William Nickerson. She is survived by: her parent Barbara Nickerson (Hollis); her daughters, Mandy B. Sawicki (Darren) of Woburn and Susan Machnik (Jonathan) of Woburn; and her siblings, Stephen Nickerson (Lucy) of Osterville and Kenneth Nickerson.

It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Barbara's memory to the James L. McKeown Boys & Girls Club of Woburn, Charles Gardner Lane, Woburn, MA 01801.
