He was predeceased by: his sister Margaret "Peggy" Gaffney (Mark) of Woburn. He is survived by: his sons, Kevin (Susanna) of North Andover, Robert (Rosemary) of Woburn, Brian (Katherine) of Milton, Peter (Elizabeth) of Winchester, John (Lisa) of Wilmington and David (Lara) of Newburyport; and his siblings, Carol Murphy (late Donald) of Woburn and Denis L. Maher Jr. (Maryellen) of Woburn. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
