She was predeceased by: her parents, Felix McGurl and Helen McGurl; her husband John F. Doherty; her son John C. Doherty; and her siblings, Marion Lisheness, James, George and John McGurl.
She is survived by: her children, Dennis M. Doherty (Joan) of Woburn, Marie DiFelice (Andrew) of Tewksbury, Carol L. Nagle of Woburn and Kevin F. Doherty (Judy); her grandchildren, Brian Doherty (Katherine), Denny Doherty (Katie), Matt Doherty (June), Andrew DiFelice, Marc DiFelice (Jacqui), Melissa Gaffney (Joe), Amy Cardillo (Ron), Michelle DiFelice, Amanda DiFelice, James Nagle (Dani), Bobby Nagle, Michael Nagle (Caitlin), Stephen Nagle, Philip Nagle, Kevin Doherty (Michelle), Aimee Doherty, Daniel Doherty and Kara Doherty; and her daughter-in-law Debra Nelson of Lynn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
