George F. Rooney Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George F. Rooney of Woburn, Massachusetts, who passed away on April 2, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George H. Rooney and Mary Rooney (Chamberlain). He is survived by: his sons, Daniel Rooney (Dina) of North Reading and Michael Rooney of Woburn; his grandsons, Dean and Brendan Rooney; his wife Mary Rooney (McLaughlin); his brother James Rooney; and his nieces, Susan Rooney-O'Meila of Woburn and Kathleen Schultz of Tewksbury.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, close family and friends are invited to briefly pay their respects on Thursday, April 8th, from 2-4 p. m., in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main St., Woburn.
A prayer service and military honors will take place prior to calling hours at 1 p.m. At the families request, please omit flowers, donations may be made in George's memory to the Salvation Army, 402 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02139.
