He was predeceased by: his parents, Jon Purkar and Maria Purkar; and his sibling Ilija Purkar. He is survived by: his wife Evanthia "Evie" (Papaioannou); his daughter Maria Roberto (Richard) of Burlington; his grandchildren, Christina Roberto (Michael Dunn) of Los Angeles, Julia Roberto of Burlington and Nicholas Roberto of Burlington; and his siblings, Doina Radulov, Liana Baba, Maria Keci, Persa Muncan and Anna Tapalaga. He is also survived by his wife, daughter, and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund.
