He was predeceased by: his former wife Catherine T. Rafferty (Foley); his parents, John Rafferty and Mary Rafferty (McElhiney); and his siblings, Joseph, John, Michael Rafferty and Mary Gibbons.
He is survived by: his children, Richard T. Rafferty, Jr. (Susan), Patrick Rafferty (Laura Buzzell) and Marion Mallett (Paul); his grandchildren, Matt, Colin Rafferty, Lauren Mallett, Emma Rafferty (Stephen Miles), Richard Matthew Rafferty, Shawn Rafferty, Haley Mallett and Allison Mallett; his pet Tank; his sister Patricia Galante (John); his sister-in-law Barbara Rafferty; and his wife Catherine T. "Kay" Foley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
