He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Beverly L. Russell (Morse); his sons, James E. Russell (Dorothy) of Ashland and Jeffery M. Russell of Holden; and his grandchildren, Gregory and Jennifer Russell. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Town of Holden Fire Dept.
