He was predeceased by: his brother Bernard W. McCarthy, Jr.. He is survived by: his niece Heather M. Underhill (Graeme) of Raymond, NH; his nephew Peter McCarthy; his son Tyler; his sister-in-law Sheila McCarthy of Charlton, MA.; and his parents, Bernard W. McCarthy and Mary V. McCarthy (Cafferty).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donation be made to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
