He was predeceased by: his son Jeffrey L. McLaughlin, Jr.; and his parents, Edward and Yvette McLaughlin, Sr. (Proulx). He is survived by: his sons, Christopher J. McLaughlin of Oxford, Brandon J. McLaughlin (Kimberly) of Worcester, Sean T. McLaughlin of Worcester, Kegan M. Cline of Charlton and Daniel J. McLaughlin of Worcester; his siblings, Edward McLaughlin, Jr. of Leominster, Michael McLaughlin of Melbourne, FL, Lisa McLaughlin of Fitchburg and Mary-Ellen Dunne of Thornton, CO; and his pet Tug. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
