He is survived by: his wife Margaret Blakney; his children, Valerie Blakney of Worcester, Joe N Blakney Jr. of Tuscaloosa and Michael Blakney (Lynn) of Worcester; his brother Jimmie Blakney (Alice) of Sagiaw, MI; and his grandchildren, Justin Latendress, Jamal Blakney, Cameron Brown of Maliyah Blakney, MO, Mikaylah Blakney of Texas and Okami Brown of Fort Lauderale, FL. He is also survived by three great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
