He was predeceased by: his spouse Barbara Trainor (Farley). He is survived by: his son John M. Trainor, II; his wife Kristine of Worcester; his brother Eugene Trainor of Boxborough; his parents, Eugene F. and Ruth E. Trainor (Messinger); and also, Charles F. Trainor (Kathleen) of Sutton, Lawrence E. Trainor and Sandra Gordon of North Grafton. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; a great grandson; nieces and nephews.
