It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Judge Joseph L Lian Jr. of Worcester, Massachusetts, who passed away on December 5, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his sisters, Yvonne Russell, Eleanor Hajjar and Adele Azar; and his parents, Joseph Lian and Freda Lian (Halal).
He is survived by: his wife Lorraine M. Lian (Kouri); his children, Cynthia Lian Henderson (Dennis Henderson) of Worcester and Joseph Lian III of Ashland; his granddaughter Lianne Henderson; his grandson-in-law Aaron Vigneault; his granddaughter Erica Henderson (Aaron Griffing); and his great grandchildren, Rory, Mae and Marlow. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel (370 Plantation St, Worcester, MA 01605). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church (256 Hamilton St, Worcester, MA 01604).
