She was predeceased by: her former husband Burton Caplin; her husband Albert Shermer; her sisters, Ruth Siegel, Sylvia Young, Sarah Rosenberg and Leah Witkes; her stepson Jeffrey Shermer; and her parents, Arthur Rafer and Dora Rafer (Solomon).
She is survived by: her children, Michael Caplin (Paula) of Nottingham, NH, Marsha Kann of West Yarmouth and Lois (Frederick Provost) of Dennis; her stepchildren, Steven Shermer of New York and Susan (Tolouse Grossman) of Queens; and her siblings, Gerson Rafer (Maris) of Osterville and Beverly Rothstein of Framingham. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
