He was predeceased by: his siblings, George Atkins and Phyllis; his brother-in-law Nicholas DiPilato; and his parents, Harold P. Atkins and Blanche Atkins (Dumont).
He is survived by: his brother Kenneth Atkins (Anne) of North Hampton, NH; his sister-in-law Teresa Atkins of Albany, NY; his sibling's children, Donna, Wayne Sauer, Lisa Migliacci (Domenic), Nicholas DiPilato (Beth), Christopher DiPilato (Anita), Karen Ciampi (Luigi), Alissa Atkins, Keith Atkins (Kimberly), Kurt Atkins (Sierra) and Kristen Proctor (Kevin); and also, Steve and Sandy Bovat.
