He was predeceased by: his wife Edna Gates (Gaylord); and his parents, William Gates, Jr. and Estelle Gates (Bailey). He is survived by: his children, Lynne of Chicopee, William of Norfolk, VA and Jennifer (Carl Lundquist) of Naples, FL; his grandchildren, Celeste Cabana and A. F.; and his great grandchild Hadley Cabana.
