He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harold and Inez Gunnarson (Hallberg); his wife Marie L. (DeMarco); his daughters, Lisa Besaw (Garry) of Barre and Linda Downing (Jerry) of Gardner; his siblings, Jackie Gunnarson (Judy) of Rutland, June Carelli of Worcester and Phyllis Gunnarson of Worcester; his granddaughters, Amber Duval (Jeremy), Sheena Fargnoli (Todd) and Misty Thorpe (Sean); his great grandchildren, Lane, Kenzie, Isla, Jorja, Hazel, Cadence and Gwen; and his grandson Joe Duval. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
