He was predeceased by: his parents, Murray "Skeeter" Watkins, Sr. and Lydia Harris-Watkins; his wife Shirley M. Watkins; his sons, Ron Watkins and Bruce Watkins; and his brothers, Melvin Watkins and Murray C. Watkins, Jr..

He is survived by: his children, Mark Watkins of Florida, Leanna Brown of Maryland and Raymond Watkins, Jr. of Maryland; his grandchildren, Michael, Kendra, Brandon, Cory, Brian, Brittany, Brianna and Faith; his siblings, Della Webb, Loletta Corder, Sheila Watkins, Stephanie Watkins, Louis Watkins and Larry Watkins; his goddaughter Pearline Jones-Green; his siblings-in-law, James Webb and Bernise Watkins; his aunt Sarah Elizabeth Evans; and his pet Coby. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
