He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie W. Tanner and Mary Doss Tanner; his wife Annie H. Tanner; his children, Lawrence M. Tanner, Jr., Emma J. Green and Mary Ann Tanner; and his siblings, Margaret Tanner Paige, Nathaniel, Fred, Charlie-Ed and Daniel Tanner.
He is survived by: his children, Emma Jean, Demaris Chantay Tanner of Spout Spring, VA, Sonya R. Tanner of Baltimore, MD and Timothy B. Tanner of Spout Spring, VA; his brother McKinley Tanner; his sister-in-law Thelma J. Tanner of Spout Spring, VA; his grandchildren, Pharod Blackman (Fiancée Shronda Mosley), Lawrence (Annie Ruth), Dottrele of Baltimore, MD, William of Baltimore, MD, Kyrana of Baltimore, MD, Nicola of Baltimore, MD, Tremayne of Baltimore, MD, Nikkah, Tonisha (Elvis) of Richmond, VA and Shydasha of Spout Spring, VA; and his niece Geneva Reed. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and many other nieces, nephews, cousins.
