He was loved and cherished by many people including: his siblings, Joan Smith, Laura Fox and Clark Oehler; and his children, Laura Lake (David), Sherry Oehler and Jack Oehler. He was also cherished by six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Francis H. Oehler's name to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
