He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Elizabeth Kirby; his children, James E. Kirby (Carol), Joseph L. Kirby (Katie), John P. Kirby (Martha) and Thomas M. Kirby (Theresa); and his siblings, Arthur Kirby and Vera Russell. He was also cherished by 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
