She was predeceased by: her parents, Alexander Melvin and Daisy Ella Briggs Melvin; her former husband James Albbot Lucas (Buddy); and her son James Lucas (Jimmie). She is survived by: her friend Ruth Smith; her children, Levora Melvin and Tyrone Farmer; her granddaughter Sharon Williams; and her sisters, Ann D. Reynolds, Yvonne Nelson and Joyce C. Hicks. She is also survived by five great grandchildren.
