He was predeceased by: his sisters, Jean Pollackov and Irene Fleischman; and his parents, Benjamin Lavender and Minnie Lavender. He is survived by: his wife Miriam Lavender; his daughters, Donna Baron (late Brian) and Caren Breidenstein (Richard); his granddaughters, Lea Rabinowitz (Joshua), Rachel Schaaf (Ryan) and Sara Breidenstein; and his great grandchildren, Wes, Julian Rabinowitz, Connor and Ben Schaaf.
