She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Alvin Paul Smelkinson; her children, Rina Janet (Howard), Ira Smelkinson (Lisa) and Jeffrey Smelkinson (Deborah); her siblings, Albert Wachter (Irene), Pearl Berelowitz (Bernard), Dora Rabovsky (Jack), Goldie Beber (Morris) and Louis Wachter (Jeanne); her siblings-in-law, Richard Smelkinson (Barbara), Adam Janet (Corinne), Arielle, Emma, Izzy, Aliya, Hannah, Rebecca Smelkinson and Aaron Janet; her parents, Rebecca Wachter and Samuel Wachter; and her parents-in-law, Betty and Ben Smelkinson.
