He was predeceased by: his wife Sylvia Goldberg; his parents, Hymen Goldberg and Sara Goldberg; and his daughter Suzanne Elysa Goldberg. He is survived by: his children, Ann Halpern (Steven), Michelle Goldberg and Jonathan Goldberg (Allyson); his sister Helene Oppenheimer (Martin); his grandchildren, Benjamin Halpern (Gila), Jesse Halpern, Rebecca Goldberg and Brandon Goldberg; and his great grandchild Shlomit Halpern.
