He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Ollga Zavakos; his children, Dimitra Mexis (George Mexis) and James Zavakos (Karen Zavakos); his grandchildren, Leah, Emily, James Mexis, Steven and Luke Zavakos; and his sibling Panayiotis Zavakos (Efthimia Zavakos).
