He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon L., Sr. and Mary Martha Woodruff; and his brother-in-law George Baker. He is survived by: his significant other John R. Baker; his cousins, Howard R. Stansbury, Jr. (Carol), James Conway (Terry), Donna Conway, John Conway, Denise Gaynor (Richard) and Joyce Blonskij (John); and his siblings-in-law, Thomas Baker (Anna Marie), Patricia O'Keefe (Joseph) and Richard Baker.
