He was predeceased by: his sisters, Peggy Merrick McLean and Nellie Merrick Semans. He is survived by: his wife Linda Diane Merrick; his siblings, Charlton Merrick McLean, Samuel S. Merrick and Agnes Merrick; his children, William S. Merrick III, Wendy Merrick Doak, Robert Frazier, Betsy Frazier and Gaelle; and his grandchildren, Katharine Frazier, Connor Doak, Cole Iampieri, Charlotte Frazier, Alice Doak, Hunter Hamer, Jenny Merrick and Edgar.

Memorial Contributions to the William S. Merrick, Jr. Scholarship Fund for Faculty Children at the Gilman School will be appreciated.
